Place your cursor inside the box at the bottom of the page to start typing. From there, you can set Slack to delete messages and revisions after a set number of days. Go to Messages under the Dm icon in the bottom of the Slack app. To do this, click the gear icon in a direct message conversation, then click Edit message retention. Note, however, that if you included a link or other attachment, you'll need to delete that separately by clicking the tiny X icon next to it. One way to personally limit the public data other Slack users can see is to schedule your DMs to be deleted. This will delete your message and replace anything you said with that punctuation. Press "Enter" or "Return" on your desktop, or tap the checkmark on the right if you're on mobile. Replace the entire text with a period, or another brief punctuation mark. The message that you selected will appear in the message box at the bottom of the page. If you're on your desktop, hover your mouse over it and click the three dots that appear to the right, then select "Edit message." If you're on mobile, tap and hold your finger on the message, then select "Edit message." If this option doesn't appear, then you can't edit your messages, and you're out of luck.ģ.
